Two development applications for mid-rise, mixed use buildings have been submitted to the City of Toronto in our community. City planning is hosting a public consultation for two development applications on the North-East and North-West corners of Queen and Woodbine. Please come and have your voice heard.
Councillor McMahon believes that planning is a community process, this is your chance to help shape the neighbourhood you live in. Councillor McMahon has stated that she will not support any buildings which do not comply with the newly created Urban Design Guidelines for Queen Street East. We need to hear from you!

Dear Councillor McMahon,
I would like to urge you to oppose these developments with as many resources as you can muster. They show complete disrespect for the community where they wish to build their developments. Like many developers, it would seem that these two are treating the guidelines as a “starting point” pushing to see how much more they can get.
If you stand up for the community at council and if council rejects these proposals then is that the end of it? Can the developers appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board and get an exemption from our guidelines?
If the OMB can grant permission to exceed the community’s (and the city’s) guidelines then can you lead a fight for the city to be exempt from the OMB?

Councillor McMahon has committed to opposing any development which does not comply with the new Beach Urban Design Guidelines. The two developments at Queen and Woodbine, as of today, do not comply with these guidelines. Furthermore, Councillor McMahon has supported removing the City of Tornonto from the Ontario Municipal Board.
Please come to the meeting on the 13th at 7pm @ the Balmy Beach Club and have your opinion on these proposed developments in our community heard.
